Sorry for the lack of posts over the past month.. Here are a couple of quick Wedding cards that I have made using Stampin' Up's Wedding Wheels Stamp. I love this stamp as it reminds me of the old song….. on a Bicycle made for two…well I think thats what it's called :)
All items used are Stampin' Up, however some are sadly now retired.
The ribbons have been tied into a knot rather than a bow…… just to…. 'Tie the Knot' :)

Mini Bird House

Yesterday I met with some lovely SU demo's and was shown this cute little Bird House made with the new SU Sizzix Milk Carton Die. I loved it so much, but don't yet have the Die myself, so I made a milk Carton Box from an A4 Sheet of SU cardstock in Crumb Cake. Cut the Roof from The SU Top Note Die, cut two and folded them to look like roof planks, in Early Espresso.
I embossed the main cardstock and rubbed over with some ink and a sponge dauber. Glued the box together and attached the roof.
Bird on Branch for Bird and leaves and the flowers are from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Set in the mini Catalogue. The 'hole' is made using a 1" circle punch.
Its only about 4" tall, so really just a favour box if you leave the roof open or use velcro dots, or as a little table decoration :)

Just the RIGHT Shoe(s)!!

I thought I'd share with you what I have been playing with this week.
Shoes are made from a template. The white shoe I have made by covering cardstock in Organza fabric before cutting out. the other shoe is made with First Edition (Love Letters) Paper Stack(card). Adhesives used were: Red line DST tape and PVA glue.
Both flowers made by hand, one punch, the other is using a surplus piece of the organza fabric and stitching to form a flower.
Many adhesive gems added for embellishment.

I saw a YT video the other day showing you how to make the ice lollies with SU punches. It was so easy why hadn't I thought about it before…

I am really loving the new Stampin Up Die that I recently bought. its the Sizzix BigZ Daisies. this is what I have made so far…

I just love playing with punches and when I saw some cute animals on a couple of blogs that had been made with SU punches I just had to have a go. There were no instructions, but as i have a good selection of punches I was able to work out which shapes had been used and come up with my own take on them.

I recently made this card for MIa a friend on Trimcraft, as a thank you for some crafty stash. I made it with her Pet Fish Odd and Zodd in mind. I know how much she loves her fish.

The Royal Wedding card that I recently made, I entered into a website Competition over at DO Crafts… I was so excited this week to find out that I had won!
I found out on Wednesday but had to wait until it had been put on the site…so i have been dying to tell you all. They announced the winner and runners up today but sadly Blogger had been down most of today and I still had to wait!!
The prize … is to be featured in July's edition of Creativity…. so please look out for me in the next issue :) Due out on 1st July.

Thank heavens for Stampin Up!

I hadn't been up very long this morning when hubby phoned me from work to say he was coming home at lunch time as he needed a card.. bearing in mind he works at Tesco where they sell cards lol…. so it was a nice compliment that he wanted one of mine…but he wanted a leaving card for a man!

HELP!!! I thought.. i don't have any so what could I make… I checked age etc to make sure i didn't make the wrong sort of card…. Thank heavens for SU…..and that I had plenty of good colour cardstock and paper, all I needed was an appropriate stamp!

Well, about an hour and half later i was sorted….

I searched though my old clear stamps that I hardly use and came across this one. Not quite sure of the make but i thought it would be perfect :)

I have used SU Ink pads, Cardstock and DSP in Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.

I have used Modern Label and and designer Label Punches for the Sentiment Stamp.

Hubby has just returned to work with the card and happy :)

Stampin' Up! Fishy Anniversary

Inspired by my friend Zoë who kindly sent me a similar card for my birthday.
Now that SU have the Ornament punch available again I couldn't wait to order it as I fell in love with the cute fish that could be made with it and just had to make this card.
I have used the Designer Series Papers from the Patterns 12 x 12 Paper Stack in both Marina Mist and Pretty in Pink. Also smooth cardstock in Pacific Point and Regal Rose, Whisper White for the Mat, which has been cut with the newly available Exclusive Top Note Die and some off-cuts of Basic Black and Whisper White for the Eyes and Old Olive for the Plants.

Wedding card made for a friend who's son is getting married next week.
Items used:
Magnolia - Tilda and Edwin Wedding stamp coloured with Promarkers, 'Two People' Sentiment Stamp. Rose Leaf, Flourish and Tag Dies.
Heart and Heart Border punches (kindly borrowed from a friend)
Cotton lace, Deep Red Ribbon, Silver Mirror Card. White Silky 'Water Effect' Paper and Cardstock ( Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White Cardstock from Stampin Up! )
Adhesive Gems and Pearls, Brads and Curly Cute Congratulations Sentiment Stamp… Stampin Up!
A small square punch was used to cut the ends of the sentiment banner.
Two 12x12 sheets of shiny Cardstock for Box, thin Ribbon and Patterned Tissue Paper. Finally Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter also from SU.
Nestabilities dies in various shapes and finally an 8x8 inch blank pre scored card.

Yellow Nestie Gift Box

I just had to give this box a post all of its own. I made this a while ago, but like the other items i just haven't had time to upload it. I made it to put some swap items in, but by the time i had finished it I fell in love with it and couldn't part with it!! So its now sitting in my craft room where it will stay :)
Its made with a basic mini pizza style box and nestie die cuts added to top and bottom. Stamps and cardstock are all Stampin Up! and flowers are from my stash.

Simple Sketch Card

I designed this sketch and card for the sketch challenge that I run over at Trimcraft.
I have kept it nice and simple this week and decided to just stamp my card this week instead of using on DSP
I have used the Stampin Up! Stamp sets Sweet Summer and Punch Bunch. Both are from the Saleabration 2011 sets. I have used Pacific Point SU Ink along with Stamp and write Markers in Pacific Point and Pear Pizzaz. Pear Pizzaz Poly edged Ribbon and a crystal gems.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Cute Daffodils made with Stampin Up! Stamps and Punches

As many of you know i just love to make paper flowers…. well spring is here and after seeing all the wonderful Daffodils growing I just had to make some. I have made some in a pot and others on cards. Both lots have been made using inspirations from others, but with my own take on each.

The potted Daffs are made using the Stampin up! 5 Petal Flower and Boho Blossoms punches. Leaves were cut by hand and 'embossed' with a pricking tool. The centres for the Daffodils I have used some frilled quilling papers.. I found in my stash! I knew they would come in handy one day! The pot was made using a 12x12 sheet of cardstock. No template, sorry.. I just played around with the shape until it looked right!! lol May be I should design a template for it! I might need it again…

The Daffodil on the card has been made using the Flower Accent stamp and a 1inch Circle Punch from Stampin Up. The backing stamp on the card and envelope is from the Just Believe SU Stamp set. This card has been inspired by others I have seen on the blogs, but I apologise I didn't keep the links.

For the New Home card I have used the 'Neighbourhood' Jumbo Stamp Wheel by Stampin Up!

The Easter card and Basket was made at a recent crafting group using various punches, nestie die cuts, printed images and ribbon…. not forgetting some choccy eggs plus I added some furry chicks :)

Gift Bag Tutorial - Please Scroll down and over the page for Yesterday's posts

Materials required

(For this tutorial all measurements are in Inches )

2 sheets of 12x12” contrasting cardstock.

Scoreboard or Ruler

Bone Folder

Tacky Glue (Quick dry PVA) or Strong DST

4 Brads

Hole Punch or Piercing Tool

1 ¾ “ Circle Punch or Circle Die

4 inches of Chain with Clasp

Dog Stamp/Punch or Charm

Oval Punches for embellishment.

Corner rounder (optional)

Small jump rings.

(The finished bag is approx 6" x 4.5"x 3")

Take one sheet of the 12x12 cardstock

Measure and score at 4.5” and 7.5”

Turn cardstock 90˚ and score at 3” and 9”.

Fold at score lines using a bone folder to get a nice crisp fold.

Along the side where you have scored at 3” and 9”, measure down 1” and along by 4.5” and pierce a hole for the brad or use a hole-punch. Do the same at 1” x 7.5”. Repeat on opposite side of the cardstock. These holes are for the handles.

Lay cardstock flat and at the edge where you have scored at 4.5” and 7.5”,

Take the point at the first score line and fold it towards the score line in the opposite direction, making a diagonal line, crease with bone folder.

Turn cardstock and repeat at all four corners.

Fold sides inwards, bring up the outside corners towards the middle, crossing over each other at the centre, to make a box shape. Repeat on the other side.

Glue with DST or Quick Dry PVA Glue.

With the other sheet of cardstock, punch 8 circles using a 1 ¾ “ Punch.

Take each circle and fold in half and half again.

Four of the circles place over the top corners of the bad and stick with glue. By folding them they will fall into place over the corners.

Take the remaining 4 circles and cut out a quarter from each. Using glue attaché the ¾ circles around the bottom corners of the bag.

Use the remaining cardstock and cut two strips measuring ¾ inch x 12”. Round the corners if desired.

Pierce a hole in each of both pieces and attach to sides of bag with brads to make the handles.

Punch or stamp a dog image and make a hole to thread chain through. Jump rings will help the dog lay better. You can use a charm if preferred. Attach onto one handle. If you do not have a clasp on your chain, thread through handle before attaching with Brad.

Punch out some oval embellishments if required to decorate the bag…. Fill with gift!

Sooooo behind again!!

I am so far behind with updating my blog again, I do apologise…but I have been busy trying to get more cards made. i seem to be slower and slower these days lol.
I have one card for you today, but promise I will try to get some more uploaded later in the week.
The days are so dull at the moment its hard taking good photos, so its been putting me off I think!!
Anyway… in the meantime here's a card I have made as a sample for the Sketch Challenge that I run, over on the Trimcraft Forum.
The sketch has been designed this week by Sandra / Mummy of Two. I am sure that she will be happy for any of you to use the sketch too…. you don't have to be a member of Trimcraft.
I have used Stampin Up Stamps and Punches along with other punches, gems, brads and papers from my stash.

New Cards and a Candy Win :)

Isn't it a fab day.. I have two cards to upload that I have made this week and have just found out that i have won a beautiful Magnolia Tilda Stamp over at Maddy's Blog. Her work is just out of this word. Do pop over there as all her creations are just sooo stunning!
So watch this space for cards made with my new stamp… I cant wait for it to arrive :)

I have only made a couple more cards this week. Both are using Digi's. The first I used is a special by the lovely Eileen (aka Eiglas). This week she became a proud granny again to little baby Toby. And in honour of his she has drawn this wonderful baby image and has offered it free for us to use… at the same time she has put up a challenge on her blog to create…...

1) a card or other project which must be specifically for the birth of a baby. No children, toddlers, puppies or doe-eyed girls etc, just newborn babies.

2) the colour pallette can be for either a girl or a boy but please, no gaudy or very dark treatments (I'm very old-fashioned! LOL!)

3) I'd love to see at least one hand-made flower. I don't mean a bought one, I mean one you have made with your own fair hands. You can have as many Wild-Orchid Crafts type flowers as you like too!

4) I'd like to see, (but it's not mandatory) my Eiglas digistamp, 'Baby Toby' on the project .

I hope my card fits the challenge… i have used papers from DCWV, image coloured with Promarkers. mats are cut with Nestie Dies. Adhesive pearls, ribbon and heart ribbon slider from stash and flowers are made with Punches. Sentiment comes from a new Fizzy Moon Stamp set and matted onto punched labels by SU.
The colours are more paler than they look in the photos. All papers used are pastel shaded.

My second card I have used a free Digi Stamp From Little Claire's called 'Lydia Goes Shopping'. Papers, Brads and Flowers are from a new Dovecraft collection called Tea Room.
Oval sentiment mat has been made from Two SU Punches along with SU Sentiment.

Special Guest DT Spot at Stamping Bazaar

I was asked recently if I would like to be a special guest designer for this week over at The Stamping Bazaar Challenge Blog…. how could I say no :)
The theme for this week is 'Anything Goes'
I have made this card using one of their fabulous images. This one is called 'Shane, playing Basketball'. Its so cute. I hope you like my card. You can find the image and many, many more.... here.
I have used all SU papers and cardstock from the 'Brights' and 'In Colour' Collections.
White scalloped paper has been added at the bottom of card… this was in my stash and I thought it just resembled the ball shape…not sure if this was really needed…but it's on there now lol
Flat back Pearls and foam 'basketball' die cuts are from my stash.
Digi Image has been coloured with Promarkers. I have also used a stampin Up Roller stamp of Paw Prints across some of the Backing Paper and cardstock.
Happy Birthday sentiment and Punched Tab are also SU along with the Pear Pizzaz Green Ribbon (From 'In Colour' Collection), which has been knotted before attaching around card.

I have made this card for a Sketch Challenge on the Trimcraft forum, using the sketch supplied by Sandra/ Mummy of Two. For my card I have used Dovecraft Piece of cake Papers, The image from magazine free stamp and coloured with promarkers.
Yummy Sentiment stamp is a retired Stampin Up stamp. The Pre-scored, Scalloped Card Blank, Chocolate Chip Brown SU Cardstock, Silver Mirror card, Flowers, Pearls and Ribbon are from my stash

Its time for Valentines over at Lexi's Creations. I actually made a card this week, I haven't made any DT cards for weeks now :(

I have made this card using Lexi's Creations image Loads of Love Bear .
Papers are from A Piece of Cake collection. Pink and brown Ribbon and adhesive heart ribbon, white gems and papers flowers are from stash. A touch of glitter glue has been added to the paper flowers and leaves. Sentiment stamp, I have had a long while and has been stamped and cut out using the Word Window Punch by SU and matted onto one of the new style SU punches called Modern Label.

Finally some cards!

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all keeping well.

I haven't really been idle but have been struggling creating recently.

I have though managed to make a few cards this week, posted above…. I hope you like them.

Card 1 For Blue Paper swap…
Over on Trimcraft we do various swaps and this card I have made to enclose with my swap papers. I have used backing card from stash. Silver Mirror card and white scalloped card blank. Along with Stamps from Stampin Up which are now sadly retired called Whimsical Wings, stamped in Concord Crush and Pacific Point. I have then used Pacific point to 'dust' around the edge of the cardstock.
Flowers, Punched leaves and gems are all from stash.
Sentiment is also SU.

Card two, I have made to go with a Flower swap. I decided to make a little box to go with this one as well. Image is by wagsnwhiskers, 'Fury Friends'. Sentiment and Scalloped Border Punch is by SU, the large punch used for box wrap, is by MS. Flowers, ribbon and pearls from stash.

Third card and last for today has been made with a freebie stamp from a magazine.
Summer Sun and Old Olive cardstock from Stampin Up. DP is from a Dovecraft range called Funky Vintage. Silver card candy and nestie, for die cut.
Old Olive SU ink pad used for distressing the edge of image. Border Punch by MS.

As its nearing the season of glitz and glam…. the theme this week over at Lexi's Creations is Glitter and Pearls.
I had left it until right at the last minute to make my DT cards this week, which is so unlike me, so I have made two cards to make up for it. These are possibly my last before Christmas…..and the last of my Christmas cards. Any that don't get sent will be used next year :oops:
I have used lexi's Sammy Snowman and Bauble Spiral Xmas Tree images on my cards and the DPs are called Christmas Fancy. Embellished with loads of pearls and glitter glue on one and Glitter card on the other.

Christmas Paper Snowflake Decorations

One of my forum buddies very kindly posted this YouTube Video on their Blogs…

I could resist having a play.. hope you like the results… I think they would have looked much better all using Double Sided Cardstock, but I didn't have enough in Christmas deisgns, so I used plain.
The first is made with 10inch card,
The 2nd with 8 inch card, which I feel is the best finished size, and
The 3rd is made with 6inch paper.
For the large star I have used a 12x12 Premium Glitter stack called NOEL.
( I only made these just to see how they would turn out :)

On one of the blogs the other day I saw these fab designs for a Rudolph and a Snowman using Stampin Up Oval, Circle and the Bird & Branch Punches…. they were perfect for quick last minute cards.
When I can find the blog again I will add a link to it, but in the meantime these are my versions plus a Robin on a wreath… using a different punch for the Pine Branches.
Sentiment is from the Curly Cute set from SU and papers are all from stash.

Ribbon Reel Christmas Tree Decoration

This week a year ago I started on Lexi's Design team… these days I'm more of a Challenge co-ordinator than on the design team, so you only see me make random projects for Lexi's challenge blog. But I had to join in this one to celebrate a whole year of creating with her images.
For this week Lexi decided it would be good to re-do the same challenge…Blue & Silver.
I decided to do a little bit of recycling.. i had a few small reels of ribbon that didn't hold very much and didn't have the heart to throw all the reels into my recycling bin….. so I decorated one of the reel with an image of Paulo….. this also was the same image we used this time last year :)
I have decorated the reel with some extra ribbon and beads along with several punched, very large snowflakes in silver mirror card and adhesive pearls, plus a few white pompoms for snowballs!
I coloured the image and Airbrushed/spritzed with a Stampin Up Colour Spritzer…. basically it s airbrush tool that does not require an additional cans of air/gas, it had a rubber 'bulb' on the end that you press whilst hovering over the image…. I used a Promarker with the spritzer tool as i don't have a full set of SU pens. I had to take out part of the barrel but it did fit the pens. I masked my image before spritzing… I have never airbrushed before last week.. its quite effective and addictive….I think i will be playing much more with this tool!

Red Red Robin……..

This card has been made for a challenge over at Trimcraft's forum.
For this week the challenge is to use Holly, Ivy, a Robin & a Bell on your card… AND NO STAMED IMAGE!
I managed all but not the Ivy.. I hope the branches will be acceptable instead!
Also the next part of the challenge proved move difficult as my card would have looked too bare had I not used any stamping at all!! I didn't have anything else suitable… I hope the background and sentiment stamp is acceptable as the main image is the Robin!!

I have used a 6x6" Square white card, layered up with SU Chocolate Chip Cardstock, which has been stamped with SU Holly Jumbo Stamping Wheel (now retired), in Black Ink. Pieces of SU Whisper White and Real Red Cardstock have been trimmed and torn to fit and layered over the Chocolate Chip. Chocolate Chip ¼” Ribbon ahs been tied around the card and a small brass bell added to one side.

From the SU set Contempo Christmas I have stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock, punched out with the SU small scalloped Oval Punch and then layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock punched with the SU large Oval Punch. This has been attached over the ribbon with 3D foam pads.

Using the SU Two Step Punch, Bird on a Branch I have punched layers in the same three colours of cardstock...Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive, layering up the bird on top of several branches. A small black Pearl has been used for the eye.

Holly leaves have been cut using and layered up using 3D foam and placed into corner of the card. Three red gems have been added from stash for the berries.

The layout idea for this card I got from a friend Zoë, I'm sure she won't mind me using it.

This week I was very fortunate to win a challenge over at BeeCrafty Card Challenges, so I thought it was a good place to start as I needed some cards made this week.
I have followed their new challenge for this week….'all that Glitters' and these have what I have come up with…. so far! I still need a couple more cards to send out, but this will get me going!
For the first one I have used all Stampin Up Products. the stamp is from the Just Believe stamp set, bird is from the Two Step Bird and brand Punch. Designer Papers are now discontinued, but cardstock and ink pads used are Rich Razzlebury and Old Olive. Ribbon is also Rich Razzlebury, but now discontinued. Flowers and gemstones from stash,

The second card I have used a free digi Image that was from the Craft4Fun Blog that I have had on my computer for ages and not used. I have used cardstock from the Nana's Nursery Collection along with Pink cardstock. Image has been mounted using nesties and die cut layers of lovely Yellow(Cream) and Pink Glitter Cardstock. Ribbon & Brad are from stash. Birthday sentiment stamp is by SU stamped onto Punched SU Tab. 1st is a silver peel off from stash stuck on top of more glitter cardstock.
I have also entered BeeCrafty's card Challenge this week too..

Traditional Christmas Colours & DT Call

This week over at Lexi's Creations the challenge is Christmas in Traditional Colours…
I have used Lexi's Sammy Snowman and coloured with Promarkers (Which I might add are the prize for this week's challenge). I have matted onto an Oval Scalloped nestie die cut and have laid that on top of cardstock from Dovecraft's 'Noel' 12x12 Paper (card) Stack along with Red & Green cardstock.
Border has been die cut using a Spellbinder's Wizard Border Die and a red spotty ribbon has been attached over this with a snowflake charm tied with the ribbon.
I have then made three 'Poinsettia' style flowers made using two size 'cherry' / 'lotus flower' punches in red and green pearl paper and finishing with a gold punched stamen and adhesive pearl, using a Nellie Snellen stamen punch. The gold leaves are also punched, but I'm afraid the make of this punch escapes me at the moment! (L-em punch I think??)

Handmade Poppies for Remembrance - Using Stampin Up Butterfly Punch.

I've been picked in the Goddess Top Picks over at Stampin Royalty with my Poppies. the challenge was photo inspiration for 'Lest We Forget.'

I love to make my own flowers and the other day I saw a card on a blog where they had used the Stampin Up Butterfly Punch to make a flower, so I used this idea (Sorry I can't remember which blog it was from ) to make some to put in a vase… hope you like them….

Making Paper Poppies using Stampin Up Butterfly Punch,
Other Punches used: Fern Leaf, Circle and Stamen Punches.
Additional items needed: Foam Mat, PVA Glue, Embossing Tool, Florists Wire, Florists Tape, Black Pearl Pen and DST. Double sided Red & Green Card, and Black Paper.

For each Poppy you need to punch 3 Butterflies in Red. Use double sided card as you need to curl the petals and you wouldn't want white showing.
Punch 4 black paper stamens and use the embossing tool in the centres of each, over a foam mat to curl up the stamen.
Take the red Butterflies, curl their petals using the edge of the embossing tool or a pair of scissors. Layer up using a small dab of PVA glue alternating the petals to look more natural.
Cup petals in the palm of your hand to curl up a little more. Then add a tiny dab of glue in the centre and add one stamen, repeat this until all 4 have been stuck down, use the embossing tool and a pair of tweezers if required. In the centre of the stamen add a small pearl from the Black Pearl Pen. Leave to dry.
Punch a 3/4 inch circle in red and when the centre of the poppy is dry take a piece of florist wire and adhere the wire on the back of the poppy with a small piece of DST and the cover with the punched circle.
Punch 2 Fern Leaves and stick to the back of the Poppy with PVA
Take a strip of florists tape and wind around the stem.
Flower is then finished…repeat for as many as you want.

I have just uploaded my attempts 2 and 3… the first wasn't worth showing to anyone.. it was a sentiment, i tried it with both quickie glue (cold) and Heat & Stick Powder (hot) but I didn't like the result at all…. however these aren't too bad.. not perfect by any means, but they were ok to make into reasonable cards….
For my second attempt at using Hot Foils I have used Stampin Up Heat and Stick Powder over a stamped image using a Versamark Pad. The Image is from the Stampin Up Silent Night Stamp set..now retired. The sentiment has just been stamped using Stampin Up 'Close to Cocoa' inkpad and stamp is from the new SU Sentiment set called…Heard From the Heart.

First I inked the stamp with a Versamark Pad and then poured over the powder in the same way that you use embossing powder.. tipping off the excess and heating. But you must not over heat.
Then I laid the gold foil over the image, gold side up and rubbed down with my fingers and hoping for the best I lifted the foil…..

My third attempt at using Hot Foils… This attempt is using the foil cold!!
For the Sammy Snowman image I have coloured with promarkers and then using a quickie gluepen added the adhesive on his hat and scarf and along the edge of the sign board.
I left the glue to 'dry' and then laid the foil gold side up over the glue. Rubbed down with my finger and lifted the foil… ok the result isn't what I'd call perfect, but it seemed to work better leaving the glue to really dry and then making sure your fingers are warm when rubbing the foil

This method wasn't as good as using the heat and stick powder as I had to retouch a few areas… but I thought I would show you my attempts

Remembrance Day - Lest We Forget 11/11

Over at Charisma Cards the challenge this week is Sympathy Cards.
I have just made this for a good friend who has just lost his wife.
I know that its not usual to have Birds on a Sympathy cards, but they were both Bird Watchers (Twitchers) and will appreciate the difference.
All stamps I have used are by Stampin Up. Both the bird and the sentiments are from now retired sets.
Thanks for looking and let us all remember those who have left us especially all the brave who have fought for our countries.

No Backing Paper!

I won the Challenge at Bee Crafty's Card Challenge with this card :)

The other day I saw a challenge to enter and the theme was No Designer Papers… unfortunately by the time I had got around to making my card, the challenge had ended, so I found another to fit it in with…. Bee Crafty Card Challenge. they are using a great sketch this week, so I followed that.
I used all plain white card for the backing.
First of all I cut the layers, then inked with Ranger Distress inks in Shabby Shutters, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Milled Lavender. I then stamped on top of the distressing using the same inks with various flower stamps from my stash. I believe they are from Little claire's stamps. I haven't used them in such a long while, it was good to get them out :)
I then coloured in one of the new Digi's that I recently won at Fairy Fun Fridays, of Nurse Gillian.
I have embellished the card with Paper flowers and a stamped tag with Thinking of you sentiment on it. I didn't have a get well soon stamp the right size….
If I am able to find any more challenge to enter this card into, I will list them below…may be I will find another where you mustn't use any DP's!

Two of a Kind!

The other day I made a 'Friends' Christmas card using the wonderful image of Zoe & Gemma that I won from Wags n Whiskers. Often it takes me a few attempts before I am happy with my finished colouring….so I always print off a few spare images. I had some over so I decided to colour them too and to my surprise I had a couple of reasonably good ones that I decided I would make into a couple more Christmas Cards… This is what I come up with. Both have been coloured with Promarkers and glittered with Glamour Dust on the 'fur' and snow.

Designer Papers I have used are from DCWV Christmas Glitter stack from either 2008 or 2009. The Image has been matted onto scalloped nestie circles and the border is a SpellBinders Wizard Die. Two ribbons have been added in blue and white with a gold spot.

Large snowflake is made with a Dovecraft Punch and the small one a MS Punch. Flat backed adhesive pearls have been added for embellishment, some of which have been coloured with a deep blue Promarker.

I very rarely make an two cards alike, so I think this must be the nearest I have ever made!!

My Special Guest Designer spot over at PINK GEM Challenges

A few weeks ago I was kindly asked by Janet of Pink Gem Designs to be their Special Guest Designer for their November's Monthly Challenge. (Challenge 10)

Of course I wasn't going to turn down this wonderful opportunity.

New Challenges are posted on the 8th of each month.

DT Member Christine is hosting this month's challenge and has set the above Sketch for you all to follow, along with the optional extra of a christmas card with non traditional colours,not red or green….

For my card I have used Pink Gem's Stamp Winter Hoot and a Circle Sentiment Stamp, 'Naughty or Nice', I believe is from Cuddly Buddly. I have followed the sketch using non traditional Christmas colours.

Image has been coloured with Promarkers.

Base card is a white 8"x8" pre scored card.

Designer cardstock from Dovecraft's new 8"x8" Premium Glittered, Double Sided cardstock stack called - Let it Snow. Plus I have used cardstock from my stash, a old DCWV Glitter stack from a year or so back.

Large snowflake is made with 3" Dovecraft Punch, Paper flowers are from stash. Leaves are from MS Pine Branch Punch. Additional embellishments…. Glamour Dust Glitter, Spotty Organza Ribbon and adhesive pearls. The ribbon has been pleated and attached with DST.

Christmas with Friends

After winning another Wags n Whiskers Digi, I thought I should get to work and make a new card using it to enter their current challenge, which this week is ''Sisters or Friendship''
The stamp I chose was the wonderful image of Zoe & Gemma and have coloured it with Promarkers, adding a touch of Glamour Dust Glitter to the 'fur' and some of the snow.
I have used the New Dovecraft 12 x12 Premium Christmas Stack called NOEL, for all the backing card, Green Organza and Golden Brown ribbons, plus a brad from stash. Sentiment stamp is by Pink Gem.
Border has been made using a Wizard / Spellbinders Border die. I just love this die :) I have cut a layer in each of the colours of card and just layered them over each other.
